Kya Travels
We woke up to our alarm this morning, but decided to turn it off an skip breakfast for a few more hours sleep, as we were having lunch at 12:30 anyway. Unfortunately I couldn't sleep after that anyway as I was still feeling a bit ******, although not as bad as yesterday! So while Darren snoozed I got ready and started packing. I woke Darren after a while and he got ready and we finished packing, and discovered a message from Jess M saying they were thinking of doing lunch a bit later, so we got our bags and went down to reception to check out, then just chilled on the couches in the lobby for a while using the wifi. When it was time, we left our bags there and headed down the street. We stopped by an ATM then went down to Viva Mexico, only to find it closed! Nooooo!!!! As we were reading the opening times (it said it should have been open!) we heard a faint voice yelling, "I'm cold! For you!!" And turned around to see Jess M and her friends across the road. (The cold thing is an in joke we have with her about girls who go out wearing nowhere near enough clothes just to look good!) So we met up with them and all stood around a while being really indecisive before heading off down the street towards their hostel. We chatted as we walked and almost lost Darren Jess M and Nadine who were slow, then when we were almost back at their hostel, there were three restaurants, a middle eastern place, a Thai place, and a Scottish place, so after looking at the menus and deals out the front, we picked the Scottish place, Maxie's. We got a seat and were served by a waiter who seemed new, then when we asked about the lunch special he had to go and get the chef to come over. He told us the deal then we ordered and had a chat while we waited. The food was pretty nice, I had a cheesy garlic bread and a vege enchilada, (which didn't live up to my chimichanga expectations!) and we all had a good laugh over some of the antics that had been happening in the girls' crazy hostel dorm! Darren got a chocolate cake for dessert with his meal deal and the chef was nice enough to bring out 6 spoons, "just in case"! And it was delicious. We had a big pile of coins and a few notes payment system again, then thanked the chef and headed out. But not before Darren completely blocked Nadine in with chairs. The waiter helped her out, it was so funny! We had a bit of a chat on the street then headed to their hostel, where we used the wifi in the reception for a minute to see if Kay had gotten back to us yet... Which she hadn't... We had organised to stay with her this one night, but after following it up last night, she had seen my message but not replied... Annoying! So we said goodbye to the girls and headed off to find somewhere to stay that night, that was relatively close to the bus station, as we had an early bus. We walked through a chemist, but they didn't have a professional pharmacist section, (I was looking for something for my skin) so we left again and walked down to the hostel by waverley bridge, St. Christopher's. We went in to the tiny and packed reception, waited a while, then tried to book a room. They had rooms available, but it was cheaper to book it online, so after waiting around there for ages for nothing, we headed back to our hotel to pick up our bags and book the room online. Then I realised there were different types of rooms, so I was confused. We headed back to the hostel with our bags and got some clarification. The cheaper online ones only had one bed left, but the one she had (for only £1 more) had an ensuite, so we booked that. We got checked in then went up to the room, which we were the only ones in, then Darren chilled out in bed for a while and I went to suss out the laundry. I had to go across to the train station for an ATM, before changing that into coins at the reception, then sorted our washing and went up to the laundry and put it on. I chilled in the room a while as it washed, then 40 minutes later went and swapped the clothes into the dryer, then had a bit of a snooze as it was drying. When it was done I folded the clothes and packed up the bags then jumped into bed to go to sleep. And couldn't sleep. Annoying! Darren couldn't sleep either. We tried music and cuddles, and swapping beds and sides and everything, but ended up just laying in bed not sleeping for about 5 or 6 hours! Eventually at about 1:30 we finally got to sleep.
