Sunday 27th September - Musee
We finished our meals, paid the bill of €34 and walked back down to the main entrance to head for home. We had been up in the Cite for 4 plus hours and the legs were feeling a little weak and the body was hot and we wanted a rest.
No getting lost today and we headed downhill and across the Old Bridge and at the Square Gambetta we got to the Musee and it was open so we went in and although Jan thought that there was a €7 charge to get in neither of us paid and no one said anything so we wandered around and had a look at the hundreds of Old paintings.
Although we didn't know of many of the artists it never ceases to amaze me that a town of 30,000 people has this hoard of old, large and probably very valuable mostly oil paintings from years gone by.
We staggered home and went to the supermarket to get something for tea only to find it closed instead we bought a bread stick and it will go well with whatever is in the fridge for tea tonight. No beer in the place but at least we have some wine!
