Friday 25th September - Canal du Midi

We had decided to take a trip on one of the canal boats the take tours up and down the Midi Canal so we headed for the Port de Carcassonne which was about a 20 minute walk from our apartment. We got to the port area and there are about 20 canal boats tied up to the quays. One was even sporting a New Zealand flag.

We watched a couple of large canal boats waiting in the lock at the end of the harbour. One had on board a couple from Hawaii who were just going through the lock and under the bridge and then tying up there for the winter.
