Saturday 26th September- Coffee and Market in the Square
We were out rather early this morning and were having coffee in La Place Carnot but not at our usual cafe as it was closed? There was a wind and it was a bit cool. So we backtracked and got a jersey.
But the man next door was only too happy to serve us. Jannies cappuccino arrived with a head of Chantilly so we sent it back, they can't make cappuccinos. But I was more than happy with the espresso double and eventually Jan's coffee did arrive and we apologised but he said that he would have it? After coffee we wandered around the market which filled the entire square this morning and we bought some grapes and nectarines. I should have bought the oysters at €8 per dozen but then I would have had to chuck them and I wasn't sure whether we had a strong knife back at the apartment. Bummer!
We had a bit of time to kill as we had decided to go to Limoux on the train. The regional trains cost €1 so we thought that we would go there for lunch and come back around 2.00pm. So we wandered up the street towards the Gare de Carcassonne and arrived duly and purchased our tickets only to find that we had missed the 10.35am train and the next one was at 12.30pm.
