First we went to King's Cross Station to visit Platform 9 and three quarters where Chelsea bought some souvenirs. Then we made our way to Buckingham Palace for the Changing of the Guard ceremony. We settled in to a good spot and waited about an hour for it to begin. We couldn't see much behind the fence but had a great view after the gates opened and the bands marched out.
After that we went up to Harrods, started with the Diana Memorial downstairs and then looked around the rest of the store. The girls seem to like it but I find it a most confusing and claustrophobic store and couldn't wait to get out.
We had lunch at a Pret a Manger across the road and then walked through Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens to Kensington Palace which we toured inside. Afterwards we caught a number 9 bus from the Palace Gate to Trafalgar Square. We dined at Little Frankies and then walked back along Whitehall and across the Westminster Bridge.
