Today we left on a 17 day Trafalgar Tour called European Cavalcade. We rose at 3am so we could be at the Travel Centre near Victoria Station by 5:30am. After meeting our tour guide, Calvin we were off on the bus to Dover where we hopped on a ferry to Calais. Then we boarded our European tour bus (left hand drive) and met our Italian driver Francesco.
We drove through France and Belgium without really stopping until we reached Amsterdam, although much of it was a very slow trip due to the traffic! Because of this, we were late arriving in Amsterdam so we had only 20 minutes of free time catch a glimpse of the red light district, dodge a few bicycles and do a quick souvenir shop before Calvin had us on a scenic canal cruise. The cruise boat dropped us off at a canal-side restaurant where the tour group enjoyed our first meal together before Francesco picked us up in the bus and conveyed us to the Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Airport.
