After a late start, this morning we walked up to Gare du Nord and caught a number 38 bus across town to Denfert-Rochereau. We had decided to travel to Versailles by train and bought tickets at Gare du Nord to travel via the RER B to Saint Michel - Notre Dame where we would change trains to the RER C. We decided to spend the day getting our bearings, so we started off on foot along the Boulevard de Strasbourg until we reached the Seine and Notre Dame where there was already a huge queue of tourists.
