First we caught a taxi from the hotel to the Belfast City Airport where we boarded the 10:10am Flybe flight 125, a Dash 8-Q400, for the short trip to Glasgow. We landed at 10:55, collected our bags, and then took them to the Left Luggage shop to be stored while we caught a shuttle bus into the city.
Mainly, we were on a shopping mission at the Forever 21 store for Chelsea. Then, we intended to wander around town a bit to fill in the time, as our next flight wasn't until 9:30pm. Purely by chance, we were lucky enough to stumble upon the Cycle Road Race for the Commonwealth Games which was doing laps through the city streets. After, we'd seen enough of that, it started showering a bit, so we stopped for lunch at the Pret a Manger shop.
While we were in there, the rain set in with a vengeance. We braved it with our Parkas, (no umbrella), and ended up totally saturated. Someone needs to tell Glasgow about shop awnings as they don't seem to have heard of them. There is no shelter at all on the street!
Like a pair of drowned rats, we caught the shuttle back to the airport. Thankfully, we were able to change into dry clothes once we collected our luggage, and settle in to wait for the next plane.
