So not much has been happening this week, but since I've been told to update my blog, here it goes.
Mostly just went to classes so I'll give a little blurb about what I did during those. Had my first Indigenous Women tutorial on Wednesday, the room was in such a weird place that the professor herself was 20 minutes late trying to find it. Each person had to sign up to present during a week on a different topic and I chose to do the week on Indigenous Art - very exciting for me. Also had my first Conservation Biology Lab on Thursday, wasn't really a lab more like a lecture on safety and then we got sent out to fill out the form for our field trip this coming week. On Thursday we're going across the ferry to Penguin Island where the most northerly penguins in the world live wild. Excited about that a bit. Thursday night Kristin made tacos for Michael, Alan, and I. They tasted really good, and I'd been craving tacos for awhile. Friday I had another Photography workshop, and this time we got to learn about the cameras that they're letting us take out on loans. Each of them is worth about $900 AUD which is pretty insane. Problem with the tutorial/workshop was that they didnt have batteries for the cameras they were showing us except but for one so that was a bit of a bust. Saturday I looked up some jobs online, apparently theres a huge worker shortage here so there are tons of jobs available. Well I found one that is like data entry/internet research and emailed the place and might be getting a job there for about $20/hour just on Mondays, which is pretty freaking sweet. Really, not much has been happening though, tomorrow (Monday March 3) is Western Australia's labor day, people here still have classes but the outside world has a holiday. Mostly I just hope the stores in Kardinya are going to be open because I need some groceries badly - otherwise its popcorn for dinner tomorrow!
Hope you all weren't too bored reading this but hey, I can't always be out acting crazy - like the drunk naked people who just ran around in the sprinklers by my window.
Cheers!
PS Do you realize that Friday was a leap day?! How crazy is that!
