We've just had the most wonderful day celebrating Sarah's birthday again! Had a morning coffee in Harrods & a wide eyed look around - especially in the food hall. If we get another fine day we must pick up some picnic food from here & go to one of the many lovely parks. Torz came over & we all went to the Ritz in the rain (high heels in puddles) for Celebration High Tea in the Palm Court. It was just as delightful as we'd hoped with delicious sandwiches, scones & dainty cakes, champagne & tea. Surprised Sarah with a specially decorated birthday cake & the playing of "happy birthday" on the piano. It was one of those lovely "stepping out of your normal life" experiences & we all enjoyed ourselves SO much. Walked through Burlington Arcade then found Carnaby St but it's not as funky as it was in the 60's - maybe England doesn't swing like it used to!!! We toured all the floors of Hamleys Toy Store & Geoff was right at home in the jigsaws & Scalextric while I just loved the teddy bears. Had such a good day & the girls are off to Paris tomorrow - what fun.
