Taken by driver to the Blue Lagoon Clinic near the famous hot springs. During our last few hours in the countryside we drove through thick fog then into the clear to climb the Grabrok crater - one of a group of 3 craters together beside the road. It was quite a spectacular view from the top & not too bad on the knees getting down again - thank goodness. Our last full day of travel in the north of Iceland so of course we first went to a waterfall. Godafoss is the waterfall of the gods where the leader of the region threw his pagan gods into the water on conversion to Christianity. From here we wound around several more fjords & visited an historic turf covered farm & vicarage which has been made into a museum. Headed west today across mountain passes & along valleys dotted with farms, sheep, horses & waterfalls.
