Wednesday
It's off this morning for Big red take 2. Quite a few more cars out here this morning and after letting the tyres down we head up Little Red. As we reach the top there is a car parked on the track with all four people out alongside it. Given that we're driving in sand I don't know how Martin manoeuvred the Patrol to avoid them. Four adults and not a brain between them.
Once down the other side we turned right and headed over to Big Red. There is a line up this morning and several cars and people on top of Red watching the attempts. Martin starts his turn and we go up a different track this time. We get almost to the top - and by almost I mean that the the front wheels had made it - but there was no momentum so we reversed back down for another try. Martin let some more air out of the tyres and this time we went straight up.
We parked on top and headed to the edge to watch some attempts. It was really cool up there - even the sand was cold. I got talking to the lady next to me and I t turns out that they were from Cootamundra and know our friends Jo and Paul. (She did Jo's hair for her wedding).
Back to town with photos and footage for pizza and another walk around town. we bought some souvenirs and gifts for the he girls and Martin bought 22 beer tickets for the pub and the races (11 tickets for $70. One beer paper ticket didn't matter what strength).
We went to the fish truck and bought a nice piece of barramundi for dinner and called in on Chris and Shirley, Rhonda and Peter for a quick catch up before heading back to camp.
We thawed the fish and had it for dinner that night. It was absolutely delicious so we decided another trip to the fish truck was on the agenda.
