Tuesday We wake up this morning to a very windy day. While it's gusty the gusts are constant and because there is no grass we are in the middle of a pretty big dust storm. Monday We're all packed and ready to go about 9am and head over to fill the water tanks. A "quick" stop in town to say goodbye and swap contact details with Peter and Rhonda, Chris and Shirley and we're on our way by 10am. Sunday Happy Fathers Day Martin. Today is wash day and general clean up. Once the washing is on the line Martin empties the blow up pool and hangs it to dry. Chris and Peter visit again on one of their walks. We get the books and maps out and plan the next leg of the trip. About half of the campsite is empty and we decide that we'll leave tomorrow. Saturday We wake to the second race day and after some discussion last night about whether we'd go we've decided that you can't come all the way to Birdsville without going to both days. This time though we are taking our stools. We get to the bus and although we are the first stop it is already fully seated. Friday The shuttle bus starts at 10.30 and the gates for the races open at 10.45 but the first race isn't till 12.30 so we've decided to do some washing and then go to the races. We get up fairly early to get it on so that it will be dry before we need to leave.
