Tuesday
Had a tiny bit of rain last night and it looked overcast again so a quick pack up to avoid wet canvass, then breakfast and a quick shower (except Martin who decided he'd wait till after we set up at the next camp.) today is a very short drive as we head to Moreton Telegraph Station.
We set up on powered sites (no hair dryers, jugs or toasters allowed as it's generator) and then enjoy an Outback Pie for lunch. The station has a 2.5km walking track along the Wenlock River so we went for a look. Martin and Mud Duck went down to take a closer look and some photos at the Barra Hole but Karen and I stayed at the top. Now that we don't have a step on the camper my knees are getting a real workout each time I get in or out.
We kept walking and found Cave Creek and the natural bridge. The lagoon we passed was more like a swamp at the time of year although there were water lilies so I imagine it would be lovely in huge wet season.
Back to camp and we have some new neighbours setting up. They are in a big rig and the driver starts walking around like he owns the place - walking through our camp and dragging hoses across The Ducks camper. After he fills his tanks he starts washing the dirt of his van. Karen tells him then this is the drinking water for the station so thankfully he stops.
After showers and dinner Martin sets up the TV outside so we watch a movie. The generator goes off at 9pm so it's another relatively early night.
