Crew Frivolous
21st - 28th June
Waking up at Ken and Janette's was filled with excitement. Not only were we going to see Colin and Wendy’s boys, Adam and Sam but also our beautiful friends Ang and Jenny. We could **********tain our joy of all being together again.
We weren’t able to get into our resort until 3.00pm so we went cruising around the sites of beautiful Broome. The Port made for a lovely walk and lots of pictures, then onto Gantheaume Point. The rocks looking over the beach were amazing and the colour of the water a spectacular aqua colour. We also looked over Cable Beach and couldn’t wait to get a chance to have a swim there.
Once again it was beer o’clock so we met up with Ken and Janette for a few quiet ales and a lovely lunch at the Mangrove Hotel which overlooks Roebuck Bay; couldn’t get much better.
As it was after 3.00 we thought it was time to check out our 3 bedroom apartment at the Pearle Resort at Cable Beach. Wendy was like a little kid staying at this beautiful place. Our own private pool as well. It was pure luxury especially after camping for the past couple of weeks.
Colin and Wendy went to the airport at 6.00pm and all we could here was Coln Coln Coln. The girls had arrived. Let the fun begin.
The next six days were filled with so many laughs. Shopping at China Town was fun, not for the boys I think it drove them crazy. After having enough Colin and Joe escaped to the fishing shop for a few more lures, like they needed them. The afternoon by the pool was so relaxing, just the girls. The boys went fishing we were getting excited about having some fish for tea. Lucky we brought meat for the barbie because we would have all been starving. Ken, Janette, Adam and Sam all came over for dinner which made for a fantastic night.
The walk to Cable Beach and back was 4.6Kms so it made for good exercise in the morning. Colin and Joe went fishing with Adam and Sam while the girls decided a beach day was in order. Propped up under umbrellas and lazing on deck chairs on the beach was very decadent. We even got some reading done.
The beach made for thirsty work. Cocktails had to be drunk at Zanders Restaurant. Nothing like sipping drinks while watching the sunset. We all took lots of pictures and had a wonderful day and night. After soaking in our pool we had a quiet night.
Wednesday 24th June was Sam’s 21st birthday. Wendy and Colin had arranged a party at Cable Beach Bar and Grill for 18 people. They took him out for breakfast while the rest of the crew went shopping. Jenny and Ang came home with a hire car so that meant they could get around and do a lot more sightseeing. In the afternoon we all went to Matso’s Brewery to taste their beers and ciders made on the premises.
Night time we went to Sam’s 21st. Even though the food took a long time to come out to the tables it was a really fun night. Had a few more drinks at Divers Pub and then finally made it to bed.
The next day we went sightseeing. Ang and Jen hadn’t seen Gantheaume Point and the Port so we went there to show them. Again took lots of pictures and had a lovely time. We all went to the Mangrove for lunch. Colin and Joe went fishing, again in the afternoon while the girls did something way out of their comfort zone. We went camel riding on the beach. It was so funny. Besides being petrified we all really enjoyed it and were all proud of ourselves for doing it.
Back to Zanders for a drink and then home for a quiet night in front of the telly watching the football and catching up on fixing our photos. What a great day.
On Friday Jenny, Jenny and Ang all went touring in the morning and met Joe for lunch. In the afternoon it was another session at the beach with all of us soaking up as many rays as possible because the days were running out for us all to be together at Broome.
We had a great night at Ken and Janette’s for tea.
Saturday was a girl’s day out. Ken took Joe and Colin out fishing for the day. The rest of us went to the market for a bit of retail therapy. It was a good market and we all got a few treasures. In the afternoon we lazed by the pool. Ken and Janette came for tea and ended up having a quiet night.
Sunday was the end of our trip together. It was with sadness we packed as we had to be out of the resort by 10.00. We spent our last hours at Ken and Janette’s having a few quiet drinks before we had to take Adam, Jenny and Ang to the airport at 6.00pm. We waved them off as they all had a long night flying home. We went back to Ken and Janette’s for the night before our next adventure begins.
