Hiya! Time for an update =) Monday - Amy and I woke up, went to breakfast, got ready and headed to Reading Town Centre to do some shopping. We specifically had to get shoes and jewelry to go with our dresses for the Valentines Day Ball on Tuesday. Well we got to town around 11 am and didnt get home until 615 or so. We went into every shoe store twice, looked up and down the strip a couple times trying to find the right shoes and we finally just bought some! They turned out to be pretty good too. We also bought rugby jerseys which I think is very exciting! And a few other odds and ends. When we got back, we dropped our stuff off in the room and went down for dinner. After eating we came back up to try on our dresses and I did some laundry too. Then James and Steve asked us to meet them in the Swan but we decided just to have a relaxed night for once. Tuesday we slept in (yay!) and decided not to go to lunch because the night before Amy and I both showered and put a conditioning treatment on our hair...well it made us look like utter crap in the morning with super greasy hair. So we ordered pizza instead! Then hung out for a bit before it was time to shower and get ready for the ball. The get ready process went pretty smoothly except I forgot to plug in the converter with my curling iron so it almost got fried! It did melt some of the plastic though haha. In the end, Amy and I were both running late and so were the guys because they got held up looking at a house. So we didnt have time to take any pictures before we left =( Also, half the just went to the bar instead of the ball so it was just a handfull of us at dinner. After dinner we skipped dessert and got a taxi in attempt to get to the bar (where the other boys were at) before it got too crowded. We got there at 9 oclock and the q was so long. It was also one in one out so we probably would have been in line for a couple hours at least! So we decided to go to a different bar that was very empty...we watched a little football and just hung out and talked. When we got back to the hall, some of the guys and Kelly came to my room where we hung out for a bit then we went down to the guys corridor. I talked to Si for a bit then watched some contender with Ed but fell asleep so I got up and went to bed. Overall the night wasnt the greatest. But I hope everyone else had a great Valentines Day! Wednesday we got up early as usual (I only got two hours of sleep!) and went to class. Then we had lunch and afterwards I went to meet mom and dad!!! This was very exciting and almost surreal having them in Reading. We walked around for a while and I showed them some places. Then Amy met up with us and we went to dinner. We all had a nice time I think. After dinner Amy and I left to go study for a test and Mom and Dad went back to the hotel to sleep. When we got back, we studied for a bit but it was Dan's birthday so James called to tell us the "festivities" were starting. This included watching him drink a petrol can filled with strongbow cider beer, brandy, and juice. It was pretty funny and we took pictures so you'll have to look at them. With it being a Wednesday night and all, it was weird that we weren't going out but we both agreed we needed an early night and to do well on the test. When the guys left for the union, we went back to our rooms. I cleaned, studied, and talked to a couple friends. Then around 11 I got a call from James who told me Dan fell down the stairs (the birthday boy) and took him with him so his ankle is all swollen and is coming home from the union. He came up to my room and we talked for a bit. After he left I talked to Lindsey and went to bed...at 2 which is not an early night like I wanted! Today I woke up with a sore throat which I am sure is from lack of sleep =( Oh well...you only live once right? Amy and I went to class, took our test which was a joke. It was open book, you could ask questions, and work in groups. Then mom and dad came to the hall so they could see the terrible food we are forced to ingest on a daily basis haha. We had lunch, then I showed them our rooms and the bathroom. Afterwards we walked on campus, showed them around a bit, and then took them to the bus stop so we could all take naps!! I took an absolutely wonderful three hour nap but I didnt wake up feeling any better which did not make me happy. Amy and I then went down for dinner (I just basically snacked because we were meeting mom and dad later). After dinner Amy and I got ready and met the parents at their hotel. We walked down to a very nice restaurant called Zizzis and had an enjoyable and delicious dinner. It was a lot of fun! We then decided to just go home instead of showing them the night life of Reading. While waiting for the bus, a very attractive man started talking to us and we found out he is from New Zealand, came to the UK to go to a University and has been here since. That makes him about 28 years old...too bad we look 18 haha. On the way up to our rooms, we saw James and Simon in the bar so we stopped to talk. As it turns out, the guys finally got a house to live in next year and were celebrating! And now, I am doing this. Pretty soon I will pack and go to bed early. Tomorrow I get my haircut (thank god) and we go to London for the weekend with mom and dad! I am excited!! It should be a great time. I hope everyone is doing well.
