Angie's Trip to England
Hiya! So this week has been good so far. Monday was a day for rest and relaxation after the tiring weekend in Scotland. Monday night we went with people on our "corridor" to a bar called Mojos on campus to see a couple bands play. Not the best music in the world but we had fun anyways! Tuesday Amy and I took a trip to Oxford to see the university (and buy a hooded sweatshirt lol). The university is beautiful...I uploaded pictures from there so make sure you look at them! We didnt get to spend much time in Oxford, only two hours but it was enough to see what we wanted to see and of course get our sweatshirt haha. Yesterday we had class, then took at 3 hour nap (these are becoming an everyday thing for the both of us). And it was Wednesday which means union club and bar night for basically everyone who goes to school at Reading. This time though, everyone on our floor decided not to go and Amy and I had already boughten our tickets so we were pretty much thinking we would go and talk to each other and be losers with no friends haha. But then we met two girls in the Swan (bar) downstairs who told us to go with them. Becca and Lucy are their names and they are very nice girls. They introduced us to all their friends who just happened to be the "athletes" of the hall and the exact people we had been wanting to meet. We discovered that they have actually wanted to meet us from the first day but didnt know how to start talking to us. Yay! Anyway, we hung out with them until late and had tons of fun...we fit in much better with them then the people on our floor. I think we stayed up too late though because while we attempted to be good students and go to out 9 oclock class today, we slept through the entire thing. And I am not just saying we fell asleep for a couple minutes. No, Amy and I both slept through all two hours of lecture including break. Haha. Oh well. Lunch was good...a ham baguette sandwich. And after dinner a bunch of girls went to a step class at the sports center...and it was really fun. I hope to work out more often since all I eat is carbs (potatos and bread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner)!
Tomorrow I think Amy and I are going into town for the night and then Saturday we are going to take a day trip to London which I am pretty excited about. We are going to do some investigation for when my parents get here! =) And sunday we get to walk around campus looking and birds and trees for our ecology class...yuck! Classes are going well but thats because we havent been graded on anything yet. For each class, we have one essay and one other random assignment. Thats all but I hate papers so it kind of stinks. I guess biology here is one of the hardest majors, or so thats what I am told. I keep learning new cool words every day...hear are a couple (sorry if you've heard them)...fit = hot meaning he's so hot! Knackered = tired. Numpty = dumb in a joking manner. Wicked = cool or awesome. Amy is now finding that she loves to dance at the clubs and actually, I kind of like it myself which is something I never thought I would say. Mostly its because no one cares if you are a good or bad dancer here. Haha
Well I miss you all. Thank you for reading these journals and looking at my pictures...I appreciate it. And thank you for all your emails and comments, I love them!! I hope everyone is doing good. Keep in touch. Love you much!
