well just over a week has passed again and not much has changed!! early last week was pretty standard prepping and cooking as much as i could as on thursday 17 more indians came!! they arrived around 4pm and had their induction about where everthing is and who i am etc. whilst cesar had been away he (and before that aswell!) he kept ringing me in the mornings asking me to go and wake up his son as he wasnt answering his phone! this happened a couple of time and got annoying when i got out of bed, woke him, gt back in bed and then got another call saying i had to go and check again...what am i his bloody alarm!! anyway, thursday night was pretty tough trying to get my timings right and decide how much food i needed to cook as there were now, for those of u who have lost track, 48 of them! it went ok apart from i was asked to go help as one of them was locked out of his room and when i got back a batch of my rice had burnt! :( only the bottom bit so it wasnt too bad. i feel like the bloody caretaker at times, they are always knoking on my door and asking me to do things! anyway, i got finished and when the others got back from work they all tucked in.
i now have to portion the curry up as some people were taking too much, and throwing excess in the bin whilst others werent getting any! a good idea from anish there! (i was told on tuesday that my curry and dhal was fantastic, just like real indian homemade food so that was nice. i dont think it was the same the next day tho as nothing was said...) friday morning i was up at 3am sharp and cooking for them all. it was too hard, just took longer on some things and still trying to sort quantities out. that night was a doddle cooking for them, i had everything sorted and it was easy. the same on saturday too actually. then, saturday night at midnight, the first 10 left, including my now good friend Anish! i said a few words to them and they said a few back...ur foods rubbish haha! they all shook my hand and got on the coach to sydney. it was sad to see anish go as he was probibly the only person i spoke to often. we exchanged email addresses tho incase i do ever go to india.
when i was just getting up on saturday thrusday morning at 3am a car pulled into the car park. it was sabastian, the guy who used to share my room at weekends. he had just got back from sydney and was back for a couple of days before heading back there on the coach with cesar to catch a flight to darwin to meet his parents who were flying out to meet him. the only reason he had to come back was to drop off his mates car which he had borrowed! he was good to have around, a good laugh and he peeled 30kilo of potatoes for me so i liked him even better then!!
sunday was a standard sunday of being on the go all the time, however, i did sleep in when having my after breakfast nap until 1245!!! i was meant to be up at 1030 but never mind. also, the new supervisor likes cooking and so i got everything ready and he showed me some things. it was stuff i already new but he could teach me a few things in the next few weeks i think! the problem again was getting quantities right!! the last couple of days i have spent catching on sleep and getting prep ready and hopefully i will get enough done so that saturday i do not have to do much as they are reporting temperatures of between 27-31 degrees!
