Tuesday i was up to get the bus back to sydney as john and katie had work. I was back at the hostel for around 10ish. I sorted some of my stuff out and sent some emails before going around to see gilly. I was there at 3ish and as i walked in gilly was baking!! So i took this time to play with joshua and we had a blast!! Then we went for a little walk (inbetween the heavy rain showers) to rozelle before heading back for a cuppa! Gilly had a great play with joshua and he was having more fun than he had with me!! Rich was back at around 6 and then cooked us all bangers, mash and onion gravy...it was delish!! I then headed back to the hostel for an early night.
Wednesday i made some phone calls about rural work and then went into the travel agents owned by the guys who own the hostel im in. I told him wanted to go up north for rural work and he said not to. Due to the recent weather he said the harvest was behind and there was no work anywhere. However, if i was prepared to work in the cold for a bit untill work came up elsewhere he could hook me up down south picking oranges and the like. I said that was fine and spoke to a guy called cesar who said u book the train down and we will pick u up and sort u out. Done. I booked my train straigh away and then let him know. Griffith here i come.
Thursday was a busy day for me. I set off early in search of things i needed, toothpaste, jungle spray, new hand luggage bag, thermals (meant to be cold cold cold for a while) and so on. I got everything sorted before heading off on the train to parramatta to get my boots that i left in kates car!! I picked them up, said my goodbyes and then went back to the hostel to pack my bags!!
today i was up at 445 as i couldnt really sleep. I got everything together and then set off to the train station. I got a train from kings cross to central at around half6 before needing my conection from central to wagga wagga at 742. Better to be early than late!! I checked my bags in before sitting with some breaky and a coffee. Then on the train and off. It was a good train ride and i actually started reading a book! Shocking i know, altho it was only michael mckintyres autobiography. We got to wagga wagga at around 2.20pm and then got on a coach to griffith. We got in at 520, half an hour late where i waited for my lift...it never came. I phoned up cesar who said oh ur here ill send someone now!I was picked up by anthony, 31 from walney island! He is the manager here and hoping to get sponsered very soon so he can stay. I then met cesar who said he could have work for me the next day. After a few phone calls he said right ill pick u up at 6ish, ull find out what for then. Being abit tiered and shy i said ok. He then said that i wasnt staying in the hostel he was putting me straight into one of the houses...jackpot. It turns out between 4 of us we are driving 3hours away to help on a fair or something. Its money anyway.
The house is ok, not massive for 11 of us but cozy atleast. Theres a few english, german spanish not sure what else!! So all in all fairly happy, nice-ish house, work, nice people. Oh and i went to the local supermarket when i got here about 15mins away. On my way back i couldnt find the street. I came down the right street and decided it was the wrong one so went back and down abit further. On my way past i had noticed a large scarey dog and thort 'im glad theres a big fence there'. Whilst walking down what turned out to be the wrong street i heard a noise. I turned around to see this huge down running down the street towards me!! As i stopped and looked around it stopped and looked at me, so i carried on. As i did, so he it! There isnt much street light and when it finally ran under some we both stopped and looked at each other. I havent been that scared in a very long time. I genuinly thort he was going to mall me. After a minute or so of staring at each other it lost intrest and ran into a garden. So i, plastic bags in hand (that were nearly breaking) picked up the pace and walked back to the first street i had been down to finally find the house! FEW!
Now ive just had pizza and am going for a shower and bed to see what tommorow holds...

mum Oh Stephen, you are a good story teller,,,,Gilly baking?? Ha, What was it, cheesy bean cake? (just joking Gilly) Well it's all going on now isn't it, sounds like the holiday bit is over for a while and the hard work is about to start. at least it's not for too long and it will be worth it in the end. The dog thing sounds a bit scarey,,glad you won the staring comp,,you wont go down that road again i bet. Good luck with this new leg of the adventure, dont let them dump on you though with all the crappy jobs, you need to have some fun as well. Take care and keep up with the blog,,,it's fab. xxxxx
