India and Nepal 2022
At Yangon's National Theatre, the expats are out in force tonight as the Thai Philharmonic Orchestra is on tour. I am fortunate to get one of the free tickets and meet up with Carol and Cora.
The performance is being shown live on national television and it's a big night in the city's cultural life. The music is a mixture of Thai, Myanmar and European traditions and it is really enjoyable evening.
We decide to walk down the road to find somewhere to eat. It is very dark and vehicles get a bit too close for comfort and so we flag down a taxi and head north. It's only 9.30 but already the cafes are closed and we cannot even buy a doughnut!
