The rains, when they come are amazing and very atmospheric. Colleagues in the office just carry on working as this weather is normal in the wet season, of course.

Tonight, as I got into a taxi for the hour or so journey home, the sky went very dark and then the umbrellas went up. Some workers such as the street sellers, carry on regardless in the torrential rain and are soaked to the skin.

Quickly, the roads become awash with huge amounts of water and the splashes made by vehicles are huge. I am reminded that sometimes a ground floor flat is not a good accommodation option!

The taxi driver tonight has two jobs - one as a shipping agent and the other as a driver. We have a nice chat about Premier League soccer and his knowledge is extensive. English football is huge in Asia and he even knew about Sam Allardyce becoming the new England manager. The Internet continues to make the world smaller and opens up previously 'closed' countries to the outside world very fast.
