Decided to do a bushwalk today and the track we chose was quite close to our caravan park. (we still took the car however, don’t want to overdo it!) Bluff Point was the walk and it climbed up with a lovely view over Keppel Bay towards North Keppel and Great Keppel Islands. There was a lookout called Turtle Lookout which lived up to its name as we could see turtles swimming offshore. The track was 2.3km and was lovely. We had lunch back at the car then went to the Yeppoon Lagoon, a free infinity pool with a lifegard and a cafe. Had a coffee and went for a walk along the foreshore which was just being set up for another ‘art’ exhibition which I’m guessing will be similar to the one in Townsville! Drove then to Emu Park which is past our caravan park and features a large war memorial and a ‘singing ship’, a monument to Captain Cook which has pipes like organ pipes that play in the wind. Grabbed our bikes when we got back to the caravan park and went for a nice ride around the nearby bike tracks.
