Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
This morning we went for a drive through Byfield NP.
It is typically known for its super soft sand and the one positive from the current bad weather is that the rain is compacting the sand so it was no trouble to drive through. Unfortunately after driving for about an hour we learned the tracks were closed to where I wanted to see "Five Rocks". There was one track we followed that was open that led to a small township. We got a glimpse of the ocean from here and the waters were rough, it was windy and you couldn't see very far with all the rain. We could have taken another detour to get to 9 mile beach, but with the weather there wasn’t much point. So back to the caravan and going to a new camp just north of Rockhampton to escape these mozzies.
Pulling up at camp, we discovered we have now busted a caravan tyre so something else to buy in town tomorrow. We think it was just brittle because it is old and wasn’t used for so long. Matty being Matty, has also put a nice egg on his head with ANOTHER slip of a tool.
