Woke up to beautiful sunshine and contemplated a swim at the beach but by the time we'd had coffee the wind had picked up and it was too cold! The kids played in the sand with Nick while Grace and I went for a good walk to the end of the beach and back. Eventually we headed off for Kingscliff, a lovely coastal town not far from the Queensland border where we met up with the Clynks for lunch. We found a bakery on the main street for a first course and then found a café for coffee and cake for dessert! The kids had an ice cream and we sat in a park for the afternoon chatting while the kids played. Greg and Liz invited us home with them for dinner and so we crossed into Queensland and had a fantastic evening enjoying their generous hospitality. The kids loved playing with Sammy and Emily and were quite upset to leave. It was late by the time we got home but we watched a fantastic lightening storm all the way back and the kids fell asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.
