Woke up early this morning as it was cold and eventually got out of bed, as Annie needed the toilet! We had a quick breakfast and then packed up and were on the road by 915am. It was a fairly slow trip to Yamba as there were road works everywhere but the drive was pretty as the scenery changed from dairy farming to sugar cane crops. We got to the caravan park at midday and we loved it as soon as we arrived. It's a good ten kms from town but is so open and spacious and very quiet. Our site was huge and as we set up Kangaroos came out of the bush and grazed on the grassy sites in front of ours. We had lunch watching them and then took the kids to the water park, which was freezing but they still had lots of fun. I left Nick sitting in the sun watching them while I came home and made soup for dinner. Once they'd got too cold in the water they came home for a quick change and shot off to the jumping pillow leaving Nick and I in peace to enjoy coffee in the sun! Eventually we decided we ought to find them and went off for an explore around the park. Everything here is done really well. There is a lounge with a big screen TV and a free video arcade with 12 different games on it. I lost Nick for a while playing space invaders while I explored the camp kitchen and laundry!! We picked up the kids and walked down to the river where there are free kayaks to use and tyre swings hanging from the trees. The river was beautiful and fish were jumping all over the place. On the way home we found an out door cinema where they play movies on the weekend and a flying fox which we all had a turn on and was great fun! It took us forever to drag the kids away but it was getting dark and time for dinner. Once we'd eaten we went out with torches looking for bats and possums but only saw an amazing starry sky. The kids had a shower and at some point Nick and Katharine disappeared - they were later found in the TV lounge playing space invaders!!!
