So today me, Becky, Harriett and Ashley went to the Healesville Sanctuary. Other than the fact that we had to get public transport to and from there which took so long u wouldnt believe, the day was fantastic. We actually ended up having to get a taxi to the sanctuary from the train station because the next bus wasnt for another 2 or 3 hours. We had asked the guy how much it was gonna b and he said $40, and he was actually raelly good and stopped the meter at $40 exactly so we gave him a wee tip seeing as it was easter as wel.
So at the sanctuary they hav some shows on to show off the animals. Also all the animals in this sancturay r Australian. First off we had the rest of our picnic and our cream egg (my only one this year!) which Becky had bought for us for easter. We then had a quick look at the dingos before going to the parrot show. Now we kind of thought it might be a bit boring but the parrots were brilliant!! They talked and laughed and picked up rubbish and put it in the right bin! Its amazing what these birds could do! We also watched a bird of prey show which was pretty awesome. There were small birds right up to these giant birds who flew right over our heads!
So we saw dingos, koalas, kangaroos, wombats, reptiles, cockatoos, emus, lizards, wallabys, pelicans, kookaburras, echidna, tasmanian devils and many more! Ooh and i totally saw platypuses which were no where near as big as i thought they would be, but it was really cool to see them!!
On the journey home everyone fell asleep which sucked as it ment i didnt hav anyone to talk to and as u all know i really struggle not to talk, so i was very bored on the way home. And i didnt even have my ipod to keep me company.
