So I went for Yum Cha this morning. Was a bit worried cause i was meeting up with Jacqui's friends, was scared they wouldnt like me....however it all worked out ok and they were all lovely! So i met Lowri and Kat, David, Liam, Madeline, Jasminne and Lachlan. We went to the Shark Fin Inn on Little Bourke Street, btw i really struggle to say Bourke must be something to do with my accent lol! Anyway yum cha is fantasic and cant believe i've never heard of it! Basically u sit at a table and the waiters/waitresses bring around trollies with food on it and u choose if u want it. We ended up with quite a lot of different dishes and the food was really yummy and it only cost about $20/person!! I'd definately recommend it to everyone as its really good fun :)
So after filling ourselves up to bursting we were trying to decide what to do with the rest of the day and i think it was David who suggested going up the Eureka Tower. So me Kat, Madeline, Lowri and David went up. It was a really good day for it as well, really clear so being 88 floors up ment we could see right across Melbourne. Its funny how outwith the very centre of the CBD how flat Melbourne is and also how green it is! They were also pointing out where the really bad bush fires had been last year, was quite strange to see it but tbh i couldnt really picture how it would have looked all being on fire, with the smoke and everything. It must have been so scary to see just how close it came to Melbourne city!
After we returned to earth (yes that was the sign for getting the lift back down lol) we wandered along the market on the South Bank which was good to see the stalls. We then all went our seperate ways. I ended up wandering around Federation Square and along the Yarra where they had a sustainability fair on. It so interesting to see just how much people here are into making their houses and lives more sustainable! Its such a difference from back home where everyone just seems to think that its the governments responsibility to do stuff rather than get off their backsides and do stuff themselves! I just hope that over the next few years it really picks up back home as thats what i really want to get into when i decide to grow up and get a 'proper' job!!
