So today me and Becky went to the Old Melbourne Jail. It was kind of weird walking about this old jail, thinking that people used to be locked up here! This is also the jail where Ned Kelly was locked up and hung! There wasnt really much to see as u walked round unless u wanted to read all the stuff, however me and Becky did get some pretty awesome photos!! We actually had a total giggle! We then had a jail experience where they take u into the part of the jail they used until fairly recently. The police woman who took us round was hillarious, she totally shouted at us and locked us in a cell and turned the lights out, it was so funny! We then went back to the old part of the jail where there was a play on about what happened to Ned Kelly! It was so funny and they even got people from the audience to join in which made it even better!! Must admit i do love how in Australia they love their criminals and make them into heros, but i must admit i do hav a wee sorf spot for Ned Kelly, but then again that may hav somethin to do with the film with Heath Ledger in it lol!!
So after our cultural/touristy morning we went to meet Harriett in Federation Square where there was a fashion festival on. Wasnt really much there adn the Loreal stand was so queued out ther was no point in waiting. Some girl from the Hills was apparently there but no idea who she was or really really cared to be honest!! So we kind of gave up and went for a drink down at the Yarra River, which was really nice.
So i was thinking I hadnt seen Alec and Theresa for a while so got in touch with them and went up to visit them. And being the good girl i am, having learnt well from my father who never turns up empty handed, i took 2 bottles of wine (both McGuigan and was well shocked/impressed at the variety of mcguigan wine available in the IGA, while normally u can only get the black label stuff) and some bbq shapes (which Alec totally loves). So there was a big football (soccer not aussie rules) match on that night so me and Theresa went out and had some Thai food. The place they go is so good and we even tried this different curray which is more authentic and tasted totally amazing, just love the food from this place!! When we got back the match was still on so we watched the end of the match, extra time and then penalties, was actually quite exciting but unfortunately melbourne lost to sydney!
Ended up just staying the nite there as it would hav been quite late b the time i got home and tbh i dont know if i would hav managed to stay awake by the time i got home!!
