Went to meet Becky, Suzie and some girls they'd met in their hostel. They r living down in St Kilda which i am not the biggest fan of but i must admit i dont hate as much after today. There was a gay parade on but i must admit i missed most of it, did see a "Back to the future" car which was quite funny!

When i met up with them Suzie was totally hung over and ended up going back to the hostel. In the mean time we went and wandered down through the market stalls. I actually ended up buying meself a laptop! It only cost about £200 which is pretty good. It one of these mini laptops and has a webcam and microphone included in it which is really good for travelling and chatting on skype. I have internet in the place i'm staying so i figured it would b worthwhile rather than always having to go to internet cafes. Anyway this was how i justified it to myself lol!

After that we finally discovered where the gay parade had finished and had a wader about. Its so funny seeing all these drag queens wandering about and even saw an old guy with his saggy bum hanging out of some chaps, eeewwwww!!! So we gave up there and went to the pub for a drink. Suzie then came and met us and we all went for some Thai dinner.

It was also the Black Saturday 1 year anniversary today. I dont know if u remember Black Saturday, but it was the day they had the terrible bish fires in Victoria that killed 173 people. Now i remember it being on the news but u dont really get the full effect of it until ur over here! Tbh i couldnt imagine how they can spread so fast before i was here. It when the weather is really hot and on top of that u get this really hot wind, i've never felt anything like it, and when u feel that combination u can unerstand how the bush fires move so fast! I've also been reading the stories in the paper and there was one that i actually nearly cried at! There was a single dad trying to get his son out of danger and as they were driving the car next to them was hit by a falling branch that was on fire and the under carridge of their car caught light. The article didnt actually say it but this wee boy must have seen this car turn into a ball of fire with the people inside!! I just cant imagine how u would deal with seeing wot that boys seen let alone having to deal with that when ur 6! I also watched a program about it which had some heart breaking but also some amazing stories that came about from that day.
