Kari goes to Lincoln, England
Well it has certainly been an eventful day and I haven't really done that much. Its Friday so even though I wanted to get up early to work on stuff that didn't happen. I rolled out of bed a little before 12 and replied to some emails and such and was really hungry but I didn't have any food left. Literally I had a can of soup, two packets of pasta and a carton of juice. Not exactly breakfast food. So I was off to Morrison's to get some food. I was probably about a hundred feet from the door when I saw this girl from Canada who I had met at tryouts for the play. I said hi and kept going but then stopped and said how have you been and we got to talking about a number of things, like how fast time is flying and then she said she was going to Salisbury and Bath for the weekend. I said wow that sounds like fun I have heard that bath is a cool place to visit. And we kept talking about other stuff I think we were there for 15 minutes or so and she was like you can come with if you want. Are you kidding me? That would be awesome. I was like wait I need to think about this and get back to you but that is really tempting.
So I went grocery shopping and had only planned on buying a few things because I was going to go to Rome in five days and then I thought heck if I am leaving for the weekend I don't need that much at all. So it was a fast trip. I got home showered, washed up the dishes, and finally ate something. The whole time I was thinking about the weekend trip that Christine had proposed to me. It wasn't the best timing as I was going to Rome on Wednesday and should be working on some school stuff and yet at the same time I didn't think I could pass this up. It was too tempting, I would get to meet and get to know some new people and thought I am in England and knew if I didn't go I would just mope around all weekend regretting it. So 3.30 rolled around and I called her and got the information so I could go and buy a train ticket. I went to the train station and bought I ticket so now I am officially going. Now I just have to make sure that I am up at 5AM. But I think I may be too excited to sleep!!!!
Wow, it still has not yet sunk in and it is now 7PM. I am staying in tonight in the hopes of getting stuff done but we'll see how that goes. I leave tomorrow morning at 5:50 or some crazy hour, and then won't get back until late Monday night. I will be in Lincoln until 12pm on Wednesday when my train leaves. I am taking the train to the Stansted Airport outside of London and then I am flying to Rome!!! It is going to be a crazy few weeks and definitely could be described as a once in a lifetime experience.
So I just got done eating supper and have to add that I had nutella on toast for desert. Not all of you reading my journals know this but I have a friend in Rome for the semester and also a friend in Australia. Dani the one in Rome always talks about eating nutella which is why I bought it a couple of weeks ago and then I was reading Sara's journals from Australia today and she talked about eating nutella. It's a worldwide thing I guess....but it is so yummy!!!!!
I don't have too many plans for the rest of the night. Figured I should stay in and have a quiet night before the chaos begins, but I did go out every night this week except Sunday and Wednesday so I can't really complain. Well hopefully I can update my site with pictures and journals before I jet off to Rome but it is going to be a short time in Lincoln with lots to do when I get back and before I leave again but I am really really excited and so up for this challenge. BRING IT!!!!
