Happy Valentines Day! I didn't do anything special for the day, just the normal class and such. I had 10am seminar for media industries and it was the same as usual - the professor just talked about what he wanted to, completely off subject I might add. One thing interesting I did learn is that the designer of the ipod is from England. Interesting. The professor did talk about art and the value you put on it. Is the ipod a good design because everyone bought it? How do you measure the value of art etc... An Example from England is the Millennium Dome, which was built for the new millennium, and they had an estimated number of people to visit it, and the numbers weren't as high. Art is an interesting medium, what exactly is art and how come some things are worth more than others, going back to the whole ipod thing. I enjoyed this seminar more than I have in weeks past. After seminar I just wasted time before my next class, which is a digital media workshop. Its kind of fun because we are learning a new program right now called Maya. It's an animation/modeling program. Last week we made a ball and got it to bounce through a hoop. This week we made a hand and animated it. I just made the fingers go into the palm. (hard to explain) After this class I went to the library and surfed the Internet. I googled the ipod designer and found out that he won an award for something in Britain and beat out JK Rowling (Harry potter author) and I also learned more about the millennium dome as I wasn't quite sure what it was. Then off to play practice. Today it wasn't particularly exciting. We ran through one of the 4 scenes I am in and then I sat there the rest of the time. The main person in our scenes has been sick for the last two weeks so we hardly ever run through them. I got back and ate a tuna sandwich and ran into Viv in the kitchen and asked what her plans were for the night. She said she was going to the library at 8 so I said I would join her because I had nothing else to do and don't ever seem to get too much homework done in my room. I actually did work on some stuff, and was really focused so it was a good trip. It was nice spending time with her. I really like Viv - she's a sweetheart. All in all a good day.
