Kari goes to Lincoln, England
I have no classes on Thursdays so I took this opportunity to sleep in. I finally woke up at 2pm and then was super slow getting ready. I knew that I had to pay for my housing and had meant to do it on Wednesday, but then I went on the castle adventure. When I got back on Wednesday I had gotten a notice that said I needed to pay my housing. So I set out on Thursday to do this. It?s a fairly large amount and I should have called my bank but didn?t. It rejected it, so I came back to my room to call them and see why it didn?t work and found out that they had put fraud alert on my card. It was such a hassle because I needed to give them my account number and at first I couldn?t find it and the lady said she couldn?t help me and then I remembered where I had put it. I talked to a guy then in the fraud department and he said they had talked to my mom and I was like oh no. So after I got everything figured out with him I had to call my mom and tell her what had happened. I talked to her for a while about a bunch of different things and then I was a little late for practice, but I don?t talk to her that often so I figured it was ok to be a little late. We didn?t even really do a whole lot at play practice so it didn?t matter. I got back to my room and ate supper. I talked to my flat mates Steph and Viv and found out that they were going out with their seminar group and I asked them if it was ok if I came with, they didn?t mind. Only this time they were leaving in 15 minutes so I didn?t have time to straighten my hair, but its ok. We started our night at the glasshouse and Viv and I both got pitchers for 5.50?good stuff. After that we went to the Cell, which was fun. I didn?t like the fog machine and at the end of the night it started to get hot and the group was tired so we left a little after one. I was excited for what came next. You see they don?t have taco bell in America, but they often get kabobs after a night out, so I was excited to try these. I hope to find a taco bell equivalent here in England. It tasted good and four of us (two of the group members, plus Viv and I) were walking and eating because there was no seating in the kabob place. It was a nice night and I was enjoying it. When I got home I felt sick, and thought no more kabobs for me. It?s hard to explain what they are. It?s a pita like shell in a piece of paper (sorry should have taken a pic) with chicken pieces in it or doner, which looked gross. I had the chicken. I don?t know what kind of sauce is on it and then you can get lettuce and tomatoes and that kind of stuff on it. So it should be harmless right? Nope. Earlier in the night at play practice they had been talking about kabobs trying to explain to me what they were, basically I got out of it that they were not very healthy and Tom called them salmonella on a stick, but they aren?t on a stick so I am not sure. Now I know what they are. We got back and were sitting in the kitchen chatting and three am rolled around and I needed to get to bed because I hadn?t started my proposal, which was due the next day. I was in my room and had showered and was about ready to go to bed when I heard James come back with two of his friends and they were being loud like usual, but I am used to it at this point. Then there was this loud noise and a lot of banging around like they were running into the cupboards and stuff. I was like what is going on?this is worse than usual. And it is really loud in my room because I share a wall with the kitchen. I thought I have to see what is going out and came out of my room the same time the other three girls did. We opened the door to the kitchen (cuz everything is a fire door in this country) and there was a huge cloud of dust. Now don?t ask me why but for some reason there was a bag of cat litter, which used to be our doorstop and no we don?t have cats. Matt had thrown the bag of litter and James threw it back (the bag isn?t that big) and it broke. So what we saw was our kitchen floor covered in cat litter and they were in the middle of it. I think they had been skating in it or something, which would have been the banging around I, had heard. Oh my, what a mess. It was so dusty and was in our rooms a little too. I went and got my camera cuz I had to capture this one. They were laying in it and James had scratches all over himself. It was quite hilarious when they tried to sweep it up and kept slipping in it. Quite funny and a few of my flat mates were really mad at James. I just laughed. I am in college or uni as they say here and weird things are bound to happen. They had knocked out already overflowing garbage into the mess and had to sweep that up to. They had two bags and were carrying them out when the one with lots of litter in it broke?haha. So they had to put that one in the bin and carry it out. James is quite interesting. A different time he had told me about bush jumping or hedge diving and I was like what? Apparently its fun to do when you?re drunk, but I don?t care how drunk I get, I don?t think I will ever try that. He has shown me some of the permanent scars that he has from it and they look painful. After they swept it up and agreed to come back the next day with a mop they were going bush jumping. Oh my. What an eventful day!!
I have pictures from Wednesday and Thursday nights on my facebook website.
