Today is my last day on Rurrenabaque and I am very thankful for that, although it has been nice there is absolutely nothing to do here and the last two days I have been twiddling my thumbs. As today was Sunday there was a bit of a market on down near the river so I went for a wonder around. Like most of the markets here in Bolivia they sell used clothes, fruits, vegetables and everything else in between. There were lots of old ladies selling snack foods like donuts, biscuits, fruits, various juices, rice sausages and meat dishes all of which look deliciously good but better not to risk after my recent bout of food poisoning. Every second stall was selling avocados at about 6-12 for $1 so it's obvious they have an abundance of them here. I dropped by my airline office to confirm this afternoons flight was still on time and then made my way back to my accommodation for lunch. I had a couple of hours to kill so I surfed the net and did my yoga return. At around 3pm I went and checked in at the airline office in town and then caught a motorcycle taxi to the airport. Along with all the other tourists I paid all the ridiculous departure and building taxes and waited patiently for our flight to arrive. Around 30 minutes before our flight they loaded everyone into a van and started driving us back towards the town, we then took a couple of side roads and ended up at the far end of the airstrip - literally waiting on the strip. The plane arrived and all the passengers got off whilst the workers unloaded all their stuff, it was quite a site to see; people, workers and everything else in-between scrambling across the airstrip. We boarded and within 30 minutes we were off, the flight was once again very scenic and the highlight was coming into La Paz over the snow-capped Cordibella Range. Getting off the plane the apparent drop in temperature became quite apparent and I could actually feel my bones aching. I walked about 20 minutes through the suburb of Al Alto before catching a van and then a bus out to Nyrzha's. Unfortunately Nyrzha wasn't at home when I arrived so I had to stand around for a while, she eventually came and with her was another Couchsurfer from London. The Couchsurfer was one of the most miserable and negative people I have ever met in my life so I did my best to avoid her for the rest of the night. I made some dinner, chatted with Nyrzha, played with her new puppy and then headed to bed.
