Wednesday
We had our fIrst big mishap at Innisfail when the tow bar tongue snapped and the camper hit the road. Luckily we were coming to a stop at the lights so weren't travelling at any speed. Martin jacked up the camper to get the jockey wheel up and with the help of a local we dragged it off the road. Martin drove around the corner to see if he could buy another drop tow bar tongue. I waited with the camper for the RACQ tow truck which arrived shortly after followed by the police. Martin replaced the hitch and after an 11am breakfast we were off again.

We found Lake Placcid van park in Cairns and got ourselves set up. Due to the height of the slab in relation to the camper I didn't put the camper step out and we just used the stool.

Steve and Jo aka The Grubbs flew in today. They had planned to spend time in Cairns with the Ducks and the Buzzards before we leave for the Cape. We heard from Mud Duck that Vince is doing really well after having 2 stents inserted. They plan to be in Cairns by Saturday.
