Leaving Fitzroy Crossing to drive to Broome 400 kms away, another hard day of driving. Pulled into Derby to have a look at the Prison Boab tree and then onto the Port to see the sea. The water was a long way down, approximately 15 m, at the end of the jetty, the tide was out and most of what we could see was mud flats. On to Broome to stay with the Leach family. Waking up in the beautiful campsite in Fitzroy Crossing was amazing. The weather was so beautiful; it was sunny and about 20 degrees. After breakfast we went to Geikie Gorge for a boat trip up the Fitzroy River. The Rock formations were amazing the rich colors a site to be seen. Free camp, beautiful campground and didn't hear a single rifle shot. After bacon and eggs for breaky we all walked to the rim of the meteor Crater. Did you know this crater was created by a 50000 tonne rock travelling at 15 kms per second and left a hole that was 120 m deep, which is now only 20 m deep.
