What we hoped was going to be 'cracking the flags' today, was quickly demolished as the rain clouds had again kindly settled over our van. We left Wanaka and started making our way to the west coast. We passed some more stunning scenery of Lake Hawau and eating our fish and chip dinner sat outside in the tiny town of Haast. The weather has brightened a little so we went for a walk up Mount Iron, which offers panoramic views of Wanaka and the mountains. It was a tough climb and only 'ok' at the top as the clouds had set in so we couldnt see much! We had planned to walk round Lake Wanaka and up a mountain today but unfortunately the weather was really cloudy. We entertained ourselves with a trip to the Toy & Transport museum just out of town.
