We left Wanaka and started making our way to the west coast. We passed some more stunning scenery of Lake Hawau and eating our fish and chip dinner sat outside in the tiny town of Haast.

We eventually arrived at Fox Glacier where we did the walk up to the terminal face. Now this is a glacier to see!! It was huge and you could see right up the surface of the ice to more or less the top of the mountain. We got quite close to the bottom of the glacier, clambering over streams and boulders to get it, but we didnt stay long as we quickly moved away when it started to creak, moan and a load of rocks came crashing down from the top! Met a groupe of Irish in the kitchen who treated us to a proper cup of Irish tea - they were off the beer for the time being. That's right, the Irish, off beer!
