At last, the fog lifted and it turns out that our campsite is completely surrounded by huge snowy mountains and a large blue lake - we could even see Mount Cook in the far distance! We made our way over the Mount Cook village and parked in the carpark of New Zealands most expensive hotel, the iinfamous Hermitage, from here we set off walking through Hooker Valley. Everywhere we looked was a different postcard picture, with huge snow capped mountains, blue lakes...

Again, another cloudy and dull morning and we couldnt even see the lake that we were parked right next too, so we hit the road for Mount Cook. The views on this drive were nothing like what we have seen over the last couple of days, and were fairly disappointing - we were more or less driving through a cloud! What should have been vast mountain ranges, green hills and blue lakes was just thick fog and 100s of miserable looking sheep. We werent even able to see...
