After surviving another night at a DOC campsite we drove to Hanmer Springs and found a nice flashy campsite with power and a TV and everything.
Hanmer Springs is a small town known for its thermal hot springs, which was the reason we had decided to visit. We went in the afternoon as it was a really sunny day. There were about 10 pools in total all at different temperatures, ranging from a chilly 29 degrees to a toes burning and take 10 minutes to sit down 41 degrees. We did it the wrong way round and started with the hottest one which was also a sulphur pool meaning it smelt like you were sat in rotten eggs, which to be honest wasn't that relaxing. We spent the majority of the afternoon sat in the cooler ones, chilling out enjoying doing nothing. We had a quick break from relaxing to sneak on to the 2 slides which you were supposed to pay extra for but we got caught after our first ride! All in all it was a great place to unwind but after an hour or 2 it gets a little boring.
