For the third time of asking I am rewriting the blog due to me editing it into history. We had our gas safety check this morning, we thought we were in for problems as nothing complied with German regulations but in the end after he adjusted our burners we passed. We left in company with another UK flagged yacht with them out in front, we had a few minor problems with ropes and our spinnaker pole once sorted we were some way behind but soon started catching them ...

Enjoying a coffee and a cake before leaving Denmark for Germany. We are leaving tonight about 6 nm then anchoring in a bay just before the open sea then tomorrow we will sail 36 nm over to Germany, our last sail of this summer. We are still being buffeted by strong winds today we are getting F6 or 7 but we hope only a F 4 maybe 5 for tomorrow's crossing. We have to sail through an offshore wind farm, a first for us.

We have at last managed to escape from Vordingboug. The gale force winds dropped down to a F5 just for one day, there was an exodus of yachts leaving, all trying to get to another port before more gales this weekend. Most of the yachts are Germans all trying to get south before winter takes hold, we are also heading to Germany. Since leaving Copenhagen the weather has gradually deteriorated to the point where we now have gale force winds 30 kns + we have come into this marina as it is well sheltered from the open sea but we are still feeling the effects of the wind and rain. Back in the Middle Ages Vordingboug was the main town in Denmark with the largest royal castle. We have stayed on in Copenhagen as the weather has been a bit unpredictable with the winds left behind from a hurricane. Yesterday we spend the day at the royal palace today we climbed to the top of the Vor Frelsers Kirke the highest tower in town. We have been here four days and have not been asked for a mooring fee, we have water and electric. It has been a great place to sit out the worst weather we have had since we left.
