Since leaving Copenhagen the weather has gradually deteriorated to the point where we now have gale force winds 30 kns + we have come into this marina as it is well sheltered from the open sea but we are still feeling the effects of the wind and rain.
Back in the Middle Ages Vordingboug was the main town in Denmark with the largest royal castle. From around 1200 the kings Valdemar the Victorious and Valdemar the Great ruled most of this area of the Baltic. It was much later after the kings stopped living in the castle, choosing to spend there time in Copenhagen, that the castle fell in to a ruin and Copenhagen went on to become the capital.
The town is as good a place as any to wait out a storm, the cost is reasonable, we have electric and wifi and there are big supermarkets close buy. We will be here for three or four nights before we can carry on our trip back down to Germany for our winter berth at Fehmarn island. Fehmarn is SW from us and the wind is going to be from the SW for the foreseeable future. We only have about 70 nm to go and 15 days before we fly home so we are not yet panicking. We don't know how long it is going to take to winterise the boat but want to leave five or six days, leaving us ten or twelve days for sailing. Just hope that there are no more gales heading our way.

Bryan Evans Great to see how you have got on. I was by you at Wicor, the old Sunseeker Mobo.
