Taero island had a marked place to anchor, when we arrived there was a new looking buoy so we picked it up. We were the only yacht until about 19.00 when a British yacht arrived and anchored. The pilotage into this area was very interesting there were no navigational aids or buoys. The channel dropped to about 2 m depth in places with shallow waters to both sides, the chart plotter lead us in with slow speed and constant watching the sonar we crept in safely. We took the dinghy ashore to explore, we could see where vehicles had crossed the grass we found three houses one looked like it might be lived in but the others were derelict. The island had a strange spooky feeling to it, we found a 4x4 with the number plate Taero1 also two small boats of the same name. There were some horses and cows in the field. As we walked around Brenda said she heard noises like sticks breaking. We felt we were being watched but saw nobody. We made our way back to the beach to head back to the dinghy about half way back we saw a huge Bull stood watching us from the shadows. He was jet black like a Spanish bull fighting bull. I had on a red tee shirt so Brenda thought it would chase me but all he did was follow us with his eyes. The next day we watched him through the binoculars and realised he had a free roam of the island. Now known to us as terror island.
