After what feels like weeks of warm sunshine, sometimes to hot!! There is to be a few days with stronger winds and getting cooler, (still shorts and tee shirts) one of the benefits of sailing here is that things change. We left Sweden for Denmark, well a Danish Island only 30 miles of the coast. We mainly motored but had a couple of hours sailing at the end as the wind shifted. We realised again that life on inland waterways is not the same as it is on the sea. We are having to adjust to waves again also the harbours are now very busy as it's officially summer in the Baltic. Being this far north there are Norwegian boats everywhere, along with the normal Swedes and Danes. Yachts are rafted out five deep in places, this will only be like this till the second week of August when the Baltic sailing season finishes. We have stayed 2 nights here and spent today cycling round the top of the island. There are still quite a few houses thatched with seaweed on the island, this dates back to when they had nothing else. This part of the island is very quite and unspoilt. There are meany houses up for sale and closed up business's, it must be very quite out side the small sailing/ holiday season.
