Well back to reality... a week of work! At breakfast though, Lavina told us she had a message from home saying there had been a grenade launched into a Nairobi night club at 3am our time! We were planning going out in Niarobi on Sat night but that plans will all be stopped. Everyone is bit anxious since the group was all in the night club the Saturday before I arrived!

Still at Karuri Health Centre/Clinic and today I was working in the Antenatal clinic... yes I actually don't have a clue about pregnancy/babies/labour and the first thing Anne (the student nurse) told me, was there are 2 ladies in labour that we have to keep an eye on while running the antenatal clinic!!

How exciting but also s***ting myself too haha. Anne had never worked in this clinic before so we both got a really in depth induction which was really good. Then it was up to us..! First step was making sure they had paid to come to clinic then BP and weight. Then full examination and palpitation of baby (well that's what they call it) I was taught how to determine how many weeks pregnant by measuring where the fates is in according to her belly button and sternum by using my fingers!!! Haha def a new thing to add to my CV!

It was a really busy clinic and I didn't have to assist in delivering any babies today..! Maybe tomorrow :)

The student nurses are ace fun though and we keep each other both right, especially with the language barrier!

We were finished early again as the clinic just went quiet. So came back and wrote some emails :) Was very impressed with Mum's quick replies!!! So much for mum not being able to use a computer!!

Had 3 new arrivals to the house today, another guy and a mother and daughter from Italy. The daughter Jessica is in my room so it's filling up!

Everyone has been checking the news about the attack last night, CNN are advising no tourists to go to Kenya but BBC don't say very much. The foreign office hasn't changed any statements though so that's good!

Tonight's tea was amazing!! 5 of us.. Chris, allyssa, Vic, vince and me went to the coffee shop! Paid £5 tops for melted cheese sticks for starter, sizzling fajitas and 2 fantas! Crazy cheap and a fine change to beef and rice!

Then it was film o'clock!!! Tonight it was 'What happens in Vegas' - I've def seen it before I think but still really good!!

It's half 9 and in bed, must be earliest I've went to bed but shattered.com and my feet are freezing!!!
