Ok so we up and left Hanmer Springs today.... Yepee. We were only 5 mins up the road and mum has got the camera hanging out the window. I drive very cautiously across a long narrow bridge over a deep gorge. When I get to the other side. What does she say? Turn around and we will do it again. She wants to take photos. Must admit that they were good ones, but I'm not telling her that. On the road again and she wants to get out and take photos down a gorge. She comes back to the car jumping up and down complaining. That a professional like herself deserves a better assistant. You just can't get good help anymore. She had run out of memory on the memory card and what a surprise she didn't know how to change it. Trying to get back onto schedule we get up the road and mum sees a tree covered in apples. So of course we have to pick some and take photos. Then a little up the road we did the same with a peach tree. You can't eat them cause mum took a bite and they taste like s***. After many ups and downs again mum decides to go in the opposite direction to where we were heading she wanted to see a little craft shop which was worth the detour. Once again our 1 hour trip turned into 2 hour trip. After getting to Kaikoura, dropping our bags off we decided to take a look around and see the shops. We were told that there was a seal colony down the far end so we went and had a look to finish the day.
