Ok so mum had me up at 07:15am by turning on the news about the cyclone. Bloody thing. We hope everyone is safe and not to much property loss.
Just walked outside of our motel room to find mum in the motel garden checking out the plants. I reminded her HANDS OFF. We went to a couple of electronic stores and found what I need to download mums pics so they will be up ASAP. After this we hit the road. We were on the road not even 15mins when a truck decided that we should not of been in front of him so we ended up having to swerve out of the way. I think they think that they own the road. So it is much like the trucks at home lol. We now have to replace the carpet under mum's feet because it is now pushed up under the dashboard lol. It was a long day traveling to Cape Reinga. Most of the traveling was through Raetea Forrest up from the town of Mangamuka. This is through very, very Hilly terrane. It is much like the gorge's we have at home but they go on for hours.
During the trip we stopped at this little church to take some pics. It was sooo cute. We finally got to see sheep in a paddock today. It took us about 5 hours to get to Cape Reinga just to look at a light house. This is where the Tasman and Pacific Oceans meet. This is right up the very top of the north island. When we finally got there mum looked at the trail to the light house and said 'forget it. Your on your own.' so I had to walk 20mins down a hill to the light house. It was a beautiful view and well worth the walk down. The problem with going and having a look was that I had to walk back up the hill afterwards. This was a bit of a struggle and I yelled out to mum to call the ambulance as I thought I was going to have a heart attack (joking). We then left cape Reinga to go to Rarawa beach. This beach is covered in white sand. It's like white baby powder. The colour of the ocean you would have to see to believe. Dead on our feet we finally got back to our room for 2 min noodles and mum had to have a nanny nap before hand.
