We arrived into Nelson mid-afternoon, checked into our hostel which was also like a small hotel and then headed into town to find a supermarket, ATM and face paints for the rugby! We also popped into the liquor store to buy vodka for pre-going out drinks! Only problem, was that the hostel was a 'dry' hostel so they don't allow you to drink your own alcohol on the premises-ahh well we decided we would just hide it, even after the threat of possible room inspections! So we bought the vodka and also some cheap mixers and then had to pour the vodka into a water bottle! Yes it was a bit like been sixteen again! Anyway we was all set, we had the vodka, the face paint and cash so we headed back to make dinner...more beans on toast!!
After dinner we started getting ready and started on the vodka fairly early, luckily we didn't have any room inspections apart from Billy and Justine playing a little prank on us and us all crapping it! Was quite funny though! Then we painted our faces and headed to the bar to watch the All Blacks play. We had a few drinks at the hostel before heading into town...hammered!
We walked into one bar and Billy helped himself to some couples chips that they had left on a huge platter! After an approval from the couple to say we could finish them we all dived in! Hannah even got out her McDonalds ketchup! Then it was onto the snakebites!
We met a few others from our bus out, including the driver...well he was unique! After the second half of the game we headed to another bar with a decent dance floor and crikey I have never seen dancing like it! There was a girl we nicknamed Gaga and the driver both dancing their unique ways... Cringe haha!! After a few hours dancing and laughing we headed back to the hostel and made toasties for a drunkern snack then went to bed!
The next day our hangovers were not too bad and the sun was shining so we decided to hit the beach! It was a fair walk, probably about 40minutes but the views were stunning! It wasn't sunbathing weather but we did decide to chill out on the beach for a while before opting to catch the bus back. The next bus wasn't for about 2hours so we went to the pub across the road and had a late lunch/tea and shared a pitcher of lager between the three of us.
When we arrived back off the bus, we decided to buy more vodka and drink before going out again, we were all quite skint so decided this would be a cheap option! So it was to the liquor store again and then the supermarket for mixers!
We headed back to the hostel for a nap and then began to get ready...there was a knock at the door and it was the lady from behind the bar who had come to inspect our room! Haha apparently they inspected it last night after we went out and found traces of alcohol! Hehe we denyed it and fortunately the vodka we had just bought was in my handbag so we got away with it! It seems quite lame but I think they get their license taken off them if we drink...all so strict!! Anyway we did drink and we went out again, but this time none of us spent a penny! We just danced until we got bored and then headed home rather loudly...
The next day I had to say my goodbyes and I left the Kiwi Bus...all very exciting though...I was catching the intercity bus from Nelson to Christchurch so I could go meet Aiden at the airport the following day J
So next stop....Christchurch!!
