Hello!

So I finally arrived into Auckland! The flight from Santiago was good, think I slept most of the way, didn't even have the inflight meal! but the kind guy sat next to me did save me some chocolates! that was a nice surprise when I woke up starving about 5hours into the flight!

It was about 5am when I landed, quickly got my bags and grabbed the free airbus into the city centre. It was still early,around 6am, and I arrived at my hostel only to find that I couldn't get in! Apparently the owner had been out the night before and clearly hadn't managed to wake up and let me in at 6am! I found this quite amusing and fortunately there was another girl who had also arrived off my flight so we chatted and then the kind man who owned the cafe next door invited us in and made us cups of tea :-) we took advantage of the free tea before finally getting into our hostel!

We both showered and took advantage of even more free tea (it's nice to finally get a decent one!!) and breakfast before venturing out to the shops and a cute coffee shop where we had smoothies and cake!

We chatted for ages about our South America trips and both of us were craving a curry so later we found a cheap indian and wolfed one down! After 7months it was blooming marvellous!!

Later in the day we went back and I literally slept until the morning! Exciting stuff!

I have been to Auckland before so didn't need to do much sightseeing, therefore decided to get on the road and head up to the Bay of Islands...only problem was I had to be up and on it by 7am ready to catch the bus!

Let's see if it's worth it...
