Sarah's latest entry
Nha Trang, Vietnam
The journey to Nha Trang was via an overnight train from Ho Chi Minh City. We boarded the train about 10pm and made our way to our cabins. I was actually surprised. Yes they were basic, and yes I could see the potential for mice and bugs but hey, we had a bed! It was like bunk bed style and it was really small but we did have a little windo…
Carol Sounds just the experience we want for our grandchildren. Can you tell me how to arrange this. I can't find details online. Thanks.
re: Raqchi Homestay, PeruLouise can you find me some good beads please? x makes me look forward to thailand already!
re: Bangkok...the start!Aiden That was a very long drive but so pleased we did Hanmer Springs was a great end to our trip :-) Best seats in the pub to watch the rugby they moved the settee round to face the tv...result!! Chocolate brownie was proper nice , great food even better company :-) Mountain biking was cool, funny watching Sarah drinking bulmers on the way round lol. Chill time in the hot pools so relaxing and slides where fun. Really nice last night, but sad that i was going home the next day. What an amazing trip :-) :-)
re: Hanmer SpringsSarah Awe I forgot sooooo much on this blog!! The boiled eggs!! cooked to perfection! and the walk....it was cool :-) xxxxx
re: Skydive time!!Aiden Skydive...well what i can i say...AMAZING! Couldnt have picked a better day, think we had the weather on our side on the whole trip :-). Views where amazing and im so pleased i hung on to doing a skydive in NZ. Kiwi center was cool, they had the best ice cream ever, vanilla brownie mmm, we even had it after boiled egg breakfast the next day before we left lol! We also walked to the face of Franz Josef Glacier, which revealed its true size, helicopters at the top looked tiny! It was quite a long walk and wasn't sure it was the best of my ideas but we enjoyed the sunny weather, took lots of photos and was really pleased we did. Awesome first few days with my fiance :-) :-) :-) x
re: Skydive time!!Aiden Finally got the opportunity to ask and Sarah made me the happiest boyfriend ever :-) Guess it all came clear why i was acting peculiar. Best steak ever in flames and got to polish Sarahs ribs they was massive!
re: Queenstown and the big Yes! :-)Aiden Snow was a shock but we had good weather everyday when we needed it so cant complain. Te-Anau was a pretty cool place to stay, enjoyed the luxury of the lodge and was a pretty chilled out place. Amazing drive to Milford sound, you could see the power of the weather and avalanches trees where ripped to bits, fortunately for us it was the 2nd day of spring you didn't have to carry snow chains, the weather was amazing and all the roads clear. Milford sound was amazing although yes i was grumpy, that long drive caught up with me, was quite amusing though and Sarah soon made me smile as always :-)
re: Te Anau and Milford SoundAiden Haha still on about that bloody sausage...mmm was so good as well, but yes pay back was sweet sat drinking cider while i drove and wouldn't even give me a drop grrr. Had to blink a couple of times and make sure i wasn't seeing things before getting swarmed by sheep, quite amusing. Doh the first police car I had seen, 70mph on miles of straight road grrr was hardly breaking land speed records, much to the amusement of Sarah...... lol. Expensive souvenir. Rugby was awesome, Otago stadium is new and looked amazing really good atmosphere and you can drink while watching the game, result! Prob englands best game of the world cup!! Drunken food shopping was hilarious, so funny seeing what we had bought in the morning and Sarah finished off the cake hehe
re: Dunedin and The Rugby World Cup!Aiden This was a cool drive around every corner was another amazing view or a blue lake wow! So lucky to see the tipped iceberg, even got to taste it! 30million tonne..... couldn't remember how big so i googled this but as always your right....wow that's a massive chunk of ice, pleased i wasn't in the boat that day, couldnt have picked a nicer day even caught the sun a tad (to Sarahs disappointment I didn't burn and have a bright red face lol). That sink was pretty cool i want one! (small things) Mega day!
re: Omarama via Mt Cook!Aiden Haha 90% butter, Barbie was really cool, but i'm pretty sure i offered you sausages for breakfast, was proper nice though hehe :-) x
re: Lake WanakaAiden What an amazing place! Are you sure I helped you with your tea...yeh think your right. You know it's a deep sleep when you dribble, so funny :-) x

re: Bay of IslandsJerry My wife and I lived in Salta for several months about a decade ago and have been back a few times since then and know the region. We just published a mystery novel set in Salta and the surrounding areas, which should have all the background information anybody might want to have read before visiting the area, at a very affordable price. The book, "The Empanada Affair" is available from Amazon as an E-book for $0.99. Go to www.amazon.com and search their book section for "empanada affair". Click on the picture or title to get to the page where you can buy the book and at the same time you can download a free Kindle reader application. The book has chapters that describe Salta, Cafyate, Jujuy, Purmamarca, Cachi, Humahuaca, and much of the rest of the region. You can also get descriptions of food, wine, and artisanal crafts from the novel. There is a lot more detail than you will find in the typical travel blog. And you'll also get a nice book to read during the long flight(s) or bus rides to B.A. and Salta from wherever you start your trip.
re: Cafayate, ArgentinaNols Ha ha sounds like fun!! Did u's get a chance to do the speed boat thingy? It scared the living daylights out of me!! By way those things with the long noses arent so cute.....they chased my friend aggressively for about 10 minutes she was terrified!! lol How are the steaks going down out there? yum yum making my mouth water just thinking about them! Are u goin to Rio? U will have a fab time! x x hope u's are both well.....sounds like u's are anyway :)
