I joined the Intercity Coach in Nelson at 8:30am and made my way to Christchurch. The journey was long but lovely, the views were amazing! We stopped in a few places before arriving late afternoon.

I stayed one night in a hostel called Kiwi Basecamp which was nice enough, sorted out all my things then headed the next day to the airport! Excited!

I met Aiden after his 30hr flight from home, very excited! So happy to see him!! The weather was terrible though (I think Aiden brought it with him!) We caught a cab and headed off to pick up our camper-home for the next two weeks!

The bags were thrown in and we set off to a lovely place called Akaroa where we planned to stay in a hotel/motel for a night so Aiden could catch up on sleep!! The place was really, really nice! I loved it! Aiden had booked a penthouse suite with amazing views over the lake, a huge living room, kitchen, bathroom-with spa bath!! and a really nice bedroom, lovely surprise! I emptied out my entire backpack and managed to get it all washed and nice and clean (with Aiden's much appreciated help!) Neither of us could be bothered to cook so we settled on fish and chips which were really yum! But huge! Then it was time to chill out!

The next day we had to check out by 11am, so we were up fairly early and I took advantage of the spa bath!! Total bliss!! Aiden cooked dippy eggs to perfection!! Not had them in months so I was rather excited and they were the best!! (although he does keep calling them poached!!) hehe thanks Aiden!!

After breakfast we packed up our camper and set off on our road trip!! Next stop...Lake Tekapo!!
